Balsamic & Lime Strawberries with Fresh Whipped Cream

I love this dessert so much. It requires minimal ingredients (like 4), it’s a very refreshing and light dessert, and it takes 10-15 to make! This is my Balsamic & Lime Strawberries with Whipped Cream! I’m salivating just typing the name out!

1 lb of fresh strawberries, cut in half

2-3 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar

1-2 limes, depending on how juicy they are

1 tablespoon of honey

8 oz heavy whipping cream

1 tablespoon of vanilla extract

1 tablespoon of sugar (confectioners or granulated)

Serving size- 3

  1. Start out by cutting and washing your strawberries and placing them in a bowl once cleaned. Then add in the balsamic vinegar, zest of half 1 lime, and the juice (save the other half of the zest for the whipped cream), and honey. Mix and then place in the refrigerator for a little as 15 min or overnight if you have the time!
  2. While your berries are marinating get out a glass bowl and put in the freezer. Allow the bowl to get nice and cold because it helps whip the cream easier. Once the bowl has chilled, add in the cream. Get out a hand mixer (or a whisk if you're feeling crazy), and mix until it forms stiff peaks. You can really mix this until the consistency you like. You can make this a loose cream and just pour it over the berries, or make it a denser whipped cream, totally up to you! Once the whipped cream is to your liking, add in the vanilla, sugar and remaining zest and do one last mix.
  3. To serve, add in a dollop of whipped cream to the bottom of a bowl, cup, whatever you like, then spoon on your strawberries with a little of that delicious syrup, and then top with more whipped cream. Garnish with more zest and enjoy!
