5 lb white potatoes
1/2 stick unsalted butter
3 tablespoons of salt (for the water)
1 cup Whole milk
Salt and pepper (to taste)
Serving Size- 5-6
1.) Peel and quarter your potatoes and rinse.
2.) Put potatoes in a large pot and fill with cold water to cover.
3.) Generously salt water and bring to a boil.
4.) Cover with lid and simmer until completely soft, about 10 minutes.
5.) When fully cooked, drain in colander and put into mixing bowl.
6.) Add ½ stick of butter and salt and pepper to taste.
7.) Slowly whip with electric mixer, and then add in your milk gradually. Whip until mashed and continue until light and fluffy (lump-free) consistency, adding more milk if needed. Serve with some cracked black pepper and enjoy!
